Two Down, Two to Go

I finished two of my tests this week yesterday and I feel great!  It’s so nice to get two of them over with in one day.  It’s just kind of rotten the day before the test when you’re trying to balance the amount of study time given to each test.
Speaking of the balancing act, that’s [...]

JV Soccer Game

Last night was Covenant’s JV Soccer game against our rival school, Bryan College.  Our boys did a spectacluar job and it was an exciting game!  We ended up going into overtime but still tied 0 to 0.
Last night was also Covenant’s annual Sadie Hawkins dance, Kilter.  My roommate and I invited our dates to the [...]

Sunrise at Rock City

Every semester we have a day of prayer and every Day of Prayer we have a sunrise service at Rock City.  I think this morning’s service was my favorite of the three I’ve attended so far.  Usually it’s foggy and we can’t actually see the sunrise [which is still neat, it's like (us + God) [...]

Oh School…

I went into this week thinking I had to study for 3 tests next week only to find out that I actually have 4 tests, a reading summary, and a paper next week–not to mention the multiple smaller readings I have for other classes.  On top of that, for volunteer purposes, I need to get finger [...]

Settling Down

I’m really excited to be blogging about settling down at a church because I still remember writing about searching for a church around this same time last year.
After church hopping for half of my first semester at Covenant (which is not very long–the average time is much longer), I decided to attend New City Fellowship.  I missed the [...]

Neal Conference 2008

This year’s theme for the Neal Conference on True Spirituality is “How God Shapes a Kindom Conscience”.  The guest speaker is Rev. John Smed, who served seven years as Denominational Church Planting Coordinator for the PCA.  He moved to Vancouver to start Grace Vancouver Church in 1999.  The guest musician this year is Fernado Ortega.  [...]

Camping

I just got back from a camping trip with RUF and the Outdoors Club along the Hiawassee River.  We had a campfire and roasted marshmellows/made smores Friday night and went rock climbing/hiking Saturday morning.  After lunch on Saturday half the group went tubing down the Hiawassee and the other half went swimming/wading in the river.  [...]

Flag Football

I remember writing about intramurals last spring during volleyball season because my roommate was playing.  I told you all that intramurals were big at Covenant and most of the student body played something.  Well, I am pleased to announce that earlier this evening I played my first ever football game ever, my first ever intramural [...]

Cold-Bug

There’s a cold-bug making it’s way around campus and it’s horrible.  Pretty much everybody is sick, getting better, or getting sick.  I caught it Friday night and did not take my roommate’s advice on sleeping early.  Instead, I decided to go stargazing with some other friends.  I have to say I totally did not regret it [...]
